where IT all started
LBS College
LBS College of Engineering was started in 1993 in Kasaragod, with a campus allocated in the barren hills of Muliyar. We were the fourth batch entering the campus in the fall of 1996.
The campus was very much a work-in-progress when we stepped in. The class rooms were almost completed, but the labs and other amenities were in their infancy. But we were the first batch to start the academic year in the campus; the previous batches being attending classes in other temporary locations.
It was a first for most of us to stay away from our home, and a depressing and unfinished campus led to a shaky start. But soon everyone found or built their circles at ease, which constantly converged and diverged throughout the years. The campus or the classrooms or the canteen didn't matter after a while.
FELLOWSHIP IN
bungalow
The Scorpions Bungalow is situated in Thekkil, on the banks of the river which took the same name of the place. It was an independent house in the midst of a half-acre plot of areca palms. The house had six bedrooms, two halls, one dining room, two stairs, and three corridors. It also has a well and a natural pond which gets filled during the rainy season.
Our seniors from the first batch were the ones who started living here, and they were the ones who named this house Scorpions Bungalow. We moved in when they graduated.
This house was uninhabited for a long time, and there were many rumors about this house being abandoned and locals calling it a ghost house. It stood tall for more than 20 years since we left college, and was eventually demolished in June 2021.

Not having time or money is apparently a few of the virtues of being engineering students - it is always internals, externals, assignments, or having to deal with the schedule for back papers, or at times finding how to squeeze out from your pocket money to cover the expenses for a trip.
However, we traveled as much as we could during these four years,creating tons of memories and these trips played an essential role in forging our friendships. More than the actual trips, planning the numerous never-going-to-happen trips were also memorable.
We traveled across Kerala in our four year span, at times venturing into the neighboring states as well. As most of us were from different parts of Kerala, visiting everyone's house was also a kind of leisure trips.
YEARLY
reunions
Our first reunion was in Bangalore after four years since we graduated. Most of us had started our careers, trying to prove and excel at our jobs, and it was challenging to find a schedule which worked for everyone. But we still made a great event and caught up for the first time in four years.
Since then, we had yearly reunions in various places, and within a short while folks started getting married one by one. These weddings started to work out as an event cum reunions, with more and more members joining the gang.
With everyone's family growing, our reunions have become a huge gathering, and organizing one is not a small feat now a days. Despite, we continue to meet at least once in a year during a time where most of us are available.

We are a group of engineers who completed our graduation in the year 2000 from LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod, Kerala. This group, named Scorpions, was formed during our studies in the college. We were committed towards keeping this group active even after our short stint of four years in the college, and have been very successful.
We believe that the friendship that we bonded during this time was the best to take forward in our life, and it is going stronger with time. Instead of being a reminiscent of the past, we wanted to make sure that we continue the camaraderie.
We are now in different parts of the world pursuing our careers, and achieving our goals, at the same time finding time to take pleasure in how we move forward personally and professionally. We believe that any opportunities for us to get together are the most excellent moments to look forward.
This website was started in 2003 and it portraits our passion, belief, unity, and strength. Over the years, we had assembled an interesting cadre of friends and acquaintances, and this website is a place where we air our views and share any information about our group.
